The local radio station has started playing Christmas music - this means that Black Friday, the busy shopping day after Thanksgiving, is upon us. If you are considering doing any Christmas shopping this year we plead with you to do the following:
1) Place your orders at Amazon.com using our affiliate link. We receive 4-10% of your purchase (plus free shipping on most items and no tax for you). For example, if you are considering getting that Kindle for your loved one this year, we would receive a referral fee of at least $15! Also, check out our other offers here (for example, we earn 10% on mp3 downloads).
or
2) Wait until Dec. 5 and attend our BIG Holiday Marketplace Adoption Fundraiser in Palatine, IL. Click here for the details on this exciting opportunity to have over 25 of your favorite vendors in one place. A portion of sales will be donated to our adoption fund!

Dec. 5 Fundraiser Featured Vendor - 2 Fish Studio
In preparation for our BIG fundraiser on December 5, we are featuring the vendors who are helping bring our daughter home by donating a portion of their sales to our adoption fund. Today's featured vendor is 2 Fish Studio, the brilliant minds who create stunning, original pottery out of their Chicago-area workshop. We personally own several pieces from 2 Fish Studio and look forward to their latest designs. Check out their website here and come see their work on December 5th in Palatine.

Many Thanks
So many people have helped us get this far. Many people have donated their time to help us at fundraisers. Those who could have donated financially. My point is that we could not continue the adoption process without the help of others. Your support, help, donations and encouragement are all essential elements to our adoption journey. So we thank you and are excited to share with our daughter the stories of people who helped bring her home.
A special thanks to those who donated financially the last few weeks. When we sent our dossier in last month our adoption fund was reduced to nearly zero. The last few marathon sponsorships and a very BIG donation from a family have helped tremendously. Thank you.

December 5 Fundraiser
Wow, a lot of things have been falling into place for our next fundraiser on December 5. We have received help from our dedicated marketing team (yes, professionals are doing our advertising!) and the many vendors that are involved. I hope to post official details tomorrow or Friday so check back here for the specifics. If you have time to volunteer please let us know!
On another note, a local family and blog friend received the referral call yesterday. You can check out their site here. We look forward to the day when our phone rings for this purpose.

Dossier In Process
We received an update from our family coordinator on Friday that she received our dossier and is waiting for instruction as to which region to send the dossier to. We can't wait to find out which region we'll be assigned; it shrinks the country of Russia from 6.5 million square miles to about 200.
Until now most of the process has been in our hands. We could fill out paperwork, make phone calls, send emails, etc. Now that our dossier is on its way to Russia we are left to sit and wait. There's not much we can do now except update documentation as needed. It's a helpless feeling - we knew this day would come (and we're glad it has).
